iPad 3 Display

For months, we have been reading rumors about the next iteration Apple’s tablet, the iPad 3. We have had reports from some sources which pitched this fall as the release date for the tablet, but the latest reports say that the tablet is not coming until early next year. The have been reports about the delay as well. According to these reports, the delay is because of the iPad 3′s display.

The rumor mill has it that the iPad 3 will be coming as a “pro” version of the current iPad 2. This means that the iPad 3 will have better features than the iPad 2, which is nothing but obvious. One such better feature is the display. Apple has retained the same display on the iPad 2 as the one found on the first generation iPad, and I guess the company has realized that its time for an upgrade.

The Retina display, which was first found on the iPhone 4, is said to coming to iPad 3. If it does, the iPad 3, with a 9.7 inch screen, will practically become the first device to sport a display of such high resolution of the size. Also, the partnership with Samsung as the display supplier for Apple is broken now. Instead, Apple has chosen Sharp and LG as the suppliers.

A latest report on the Taiwanese news outlet, CENS, claims that the production of the iPad 3 will not start until the October of this year, that’s still one month to go without the production. The news outlet “confirms” this report, and below is an excerpt from the same news outlet:

“Also, Japan’s Sharp, which has worked with Apple on a joint venture and set up a new production line specifically for the partner, is expected to squeeze Samsung out of Apple’s display panel supplier list by joining the iPad 3 supply chain.”

So what do you think? Is this going to be any good?
