Create you own Cydia repos on your iDevice

If you have a jailbroken iPad or any other iDevice, you will be knowing about the famous Cydia app for sure. It is the biggest store for all jailbroken apps for the iOS platform. And now, if you know about Cydia, you will of course have heard of repositories, or repos in short. What are these repos? Repos are kind of a channel to keeps the apps and tweaks in them so that you can get them easily on your jailbroken iDevices.

For example, you might have heard of the Big Boss repo. It is one of the biggest repos and has a large number of tweaks or apps to offer. Such big repos are under constant maintenance by well experienced people. If you are an iOS developer and you have one of your own apps in the Cydia app store, you might have uploaded your apps to any one of these repos.

But if you are new to all this and want an easy way to create a repo of your own so that you can all your iOS apps there, here is a solution. iRepo is another such jailbroken iOS app available in the Cydia app store for just $1.99, and using this, setting up your own repo is as simple as tapping a few buttons. Once installed, the tweak gives an icon for you on the homescreen. You can go there, configure your repo, save it and then enable it. You are good to go.

Even if you dont develop apps, you can collect a few of your favorites here to share it with the world. You can password protect it so that you can block unauthorized access. And if there are .deb files which are too large to email, you can upload them to your repo and share it with friends. Its as simple as that.
