iPad figures by Tim Cook

The Apple event that took place last week was majorly based on the announcement of the new iPhone 4S smartphone. But before that was started, the new Apple CEO, Tim Cook, gave some really impressive figures on other major Apple products, and iPad has been one of the major products since its launch. What Tim Cook told about the iPad that day was really impressive. The first true tablet has got a very global audience and is still the most popular and most sold tablet even after hundreds of Android based tablets came out.

Below are some of the things that the new Apple CEO said on the day.

  • Customer satisfaction ratings show a 95% score in a recent survey. This is described as ‘unheard of’.
  • Adoption of the iPad in schools is huge. About a thousand universities across the US, including Stanford and Notre Dame, University of Pennsylvania, all have iPad programs.

every state in the US now has an iPad deployment or pilot in place today

  • Momentum in the healthcare industry is also big:

80% of the top hospitals in the US are now testing or piloting the iPad.

  • In the enterprise space, the iPad is also seeing unprecedented interest. 92% of the Fortune 500 are testing or deploying the iPad.
  • And of course there’s the stat shown in the image at the top of this post: three out of four tablets sold in the US are iPads – per IDC Q2 2011 numbers, and here’s betting that number rises in Q3.
If you are talking about true international fan following for an electronic gadget, this has to be it, dont you think so? And I’m sure, by next year’s Apple event, when probably the iPhone 5 will be announced, these numbers would have multiplied even more.
